the Walking Physical Activity Plan: Doctor-prescribed shopping?!
FACT: My walking plan to sculpt your body is just as simple as my eating plan.
Shopping for new walking shoes is an important part of achieving amazing results on this diet! Buy several pairs and make sure someone who loves you pays for them—it's a doctor-approved expense that's essential to help you achieve the great weight-loss results seen in the clinical trial.
Burn calories, boost metabolism, and elevate mood: “Doctor's Orders!”
Do you really feel you should sit around on your couch all day reading diet books? Couch potatoes quickly become rotten vegetables.
Had overeating, combined with lack of physical activity, been a problem during Benjamin Franklin's time (like it is today), I'm sure he would have added “couch potatoes” to his famous statement, “Fish and visitors smell after three days.”
Walking is pain-free, fun, and relaxing, so there is absolutely no excuse for being a couch potato (complaining about walking does not help you burn any extra calories.) Walking also gives you time to think, pray, or meditate about your day while listening to your favorite energizing music.
If we believe every day is truly a gift, then let's make walking a daily gift to our health and beauty.
We were simply not designed to be motionless. It just isn't natural!
Burning an extra 2,500 or more calories per week is the physical activity goal for great weight loss results based on what dieters in the study burned weekly. This can be accomplished by walking briskly 30 to 45 minutes per day (which can be divided into several 10 to 15 minute power walks throughout the day) for 6 days per week.
No excuses.
Making a commitment to physical activity six days per week will remind you of the importance of faithfully following the eating plan.
If you “don't have enough time” to walk, I recommend taking immediate steps to rearrange your life because your health obviously is not near the top of your priority list where it should be. In the meantime, using a stationary bike or treadmill for 20 to 30 minutes 6 times per week is an adequate substitute that requires less time.
So, grab a pal, a puppy, or an iPod to listen to your favorite tunes—do whatever it takes to start walking! It will help make you sparkle while taking the pounds off.

Can you lose weight just by dieting without the physical activity? Of course you can, but I'm not sure why anyone dreaming of a beautiful new body and life they love would want to miss out on the uplifting energy and accelerated weight loss results from physical activity.
Skipping the physical activity part of this plan is a really bad idea. Period. You won't achieve the incredible results found in the diet study in just sixteen weeks, and you definitely won't be as proud of yourself as you should be.
Back to the important part—shopping! Make sure your new walking shoes have great arch support to protect your feet. Walking at the local shopping mall is great exercise (and a free indoor track for rainy days), so “shop 'til you drop!”
